At Eng-Age we offer English, German, French, Spanish as a foreign language, Galician as a foreign language, etc classes. We give our students the skills to pass Cambridge exams as well as Trinity exams (of which we are a registered examination centre). In addition, we also prepare students for official exams in other languages.

We teach English, French, German, etc. to children, teenagers, adults and companies, as well as in schools as part of their after-school activity program. In collaboration with our partners, we can help you study English abroad on a short term stay or even on long term courses.

At our language centre in Marin, now more than ever, we adapt to your needs to design the best course for you. Whilst the majority of our students prefer to attend face-to-face classes, times have changed and so have we. We now also offer our students a live on-line option.

Metodology

At Eng-Age we use a functional communicative method following the principals of CEFR (Common European Framework). Our teaching is topic based, using real everyday situations that students can relate to, and not traditional grammar based chalk and talk. In each class pupils are exposed to different, realistic, daily contexts in a way that is affable and fun, and where communication and conversation are key. At our language centre we strive to surpass expectations and make sure our students progress to their full potential. We are convinced that languages can only be learnt by speaking them.

Foreign language classes for children and teenagers in Marin

At Eng-Age we know that studying languages from a young age gives children an important advantage. Children have language acquisition skills from the moment they are born, and at Eng-Age Language Centre they can learn English from the age of three. At our centre, children and teenagers are completely immersed in the target language, be it English or any of the other languages we offer. Our classes are dynamic, and with our native and/or bilingual teachers they learn the target language through games, stories, songs and fun activities. We aim to develop good comprehension and oral skills which will thus lead to natural and spontaneous communication.

Small groups offering more personalised teaching

At our language centre, our groups are small, therefore offering more personalised teaching, and homogeneous because we believe that each one of our students should learn at their own pace, and not at the pace expected of them because of their age.

Eng-Age is an officially registered Trinity College London Examination Centre, as well as teaching centre for Cambridge exams. We offer our students the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised qualification to demonstrate their communication skills in English. As we know that the best way to learn a foreign language is to speak it, our students can immerse themselves further by doing a course in an English speaking country. We offer study trips to suit you, lasting from two weeks to a year.

English classes in educational centers

Our natives offer great support to schools as English language assistants, taking our communicative resources that form part of the Eng-Age philosophy into the classroom.

We train teachers. The continuous development of bilingual sections in schools, means that English is no longer an additional skill, but a necessity for today’s teachers. After analysing your aims and needs, we will advise you as to the best English course for you. Our objective is to help all our students improve their knowledge and skills in English, and above all, their communicative abilities.

Our main aim is to stimulate, motivate and train our students in effective English communication, in order to help them eliminate barriers in the workplace.

As we are aware of how important it is for our students to see their daily progress and to feel empowered by their language skills, we listen carefully to what you tell us in order to offer you the best advice on the right language course for you.

At Eng-Age Language Centre, we do not only offer general English courses from beginners to advanced, but also English for specific purposes courses (SLLP, Engineering, business, etc.), and exam preparation classes.

We are an officially registered Trinity College London Examination Centre, as well as a teaching centre for Cambridge exams (B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency). We offer our students the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised qualification to demonstrate their communication skills in English.

We also have courses in German, French, etc. Our classes are taught in small groups, or if you prefer, you could opt for One to One classes.

Our levels and aims as a language centre

There are many benefits to learning a foreign language, and our aim is to help you develop your skills in your chosen target language. First, we listen to what you tell us about your aims and expectations in a personal interview, after, you take our own level test which will allow us to gage as precisely as possible which is your real level in the foreign language. Only then do we advise you on the best course to suit your needs.

We believe that just like adults, children and teenagers should also learn English or any other foreign language at their own pace, therefore, our groups are homogeneous and small in order to offer more personalised teaching.

Our aims are the same as those of our students when learning English or any of our other foreign languages: to learn whilst having fun, to feel confident about language learning and to progress daily.

We teach languages from beginners to advanced. Both as a Trinity College London Examination Centre and Cambridge Exams preparation centre, at Eng-Age we offer our students the opportunity to certify their CEFR level (Common European Framework) not only in English, but in all the foreign languages we teach.

Level A1

Certifies basic knowledge and understanding of a language. In English at our language centre, this would correspond to Trinity Grades 1 and 2.

Level A2

This level is the development of A1 and shows greater knowledge and understanding of basic concepts. In English at our language centre in Marin, this can be certified taking Trinity Grades 3 and 4 exams, or the Cambridge Key exam.

Level B1

This intermediate level demonstrates the ability to communicate in everyday situations. It is currently the level that is demanded by universities in order to pass the majority of degrees. Cambridge Preliminary and Trinity Grades 5 y 6.

Level B2

This is the most commonly demanded qualification and is generally required by companies and academic institutions. It demonstrates the ability to understand texts with a certain level of complexity, and certain fluency when speaking. In English, this correspondes to the Cambridge First exam.

Level C1

This advanced level demonstrates greater communicative ability and knowledge in all four language skill areas. At Eng-Age we prepare our students for the Cambridge Advanced exam in English.

Level C2

This level is comparable to an almost native speaker who possesses great fluency in English and understands the most subtle detail and nuance in complex situations. Eng-Age is one of the few language centres in Marin who offers courses at this level, the Cambridge Proficiency exam.

At Eng-Age Language Centre in Marin, we also offer our students the opportunity to certify their level of knowledge and understanding of other languages. In our French classes for children, teenagers and adults, our students can prepare for DALF and DELF; our German classes offer children and adults the possibility of sitting official exams such as those offered by the Goethe-Institut; our Spanish as a foreign language students can prepare for DELE exams; those who study Galician as a foreign language for the Celga; etc.
